Local Dobell business Lowes TC receives funds to go global

Lowes TC Pty Ltd will receive funding to meet and collaborate with global partners to progress its ground-breaking project, under grants announced last week by the Australian Government.

The Global Connections Fund grant, worth $50,000, will help Lowes TC’s project to grow in scope and scale, and to test commercialisation and proof-of-concept activities.

Mr Greg Lowe will develop, in collaboration with Mrs Deborah Rathbone at the Biorenewables Centre, University of York, in the United Kingdom, a wasabi by-product for use as a food additive.

The Global Connections Fund is a component of the Global Innovation Strategy.

It is designed to provide funding of $4.9 million over four years to support Australian researchers and SMEs to collaborate with a global partner through its two components—Priming Grants and Bridging Grants.

The 29 grant recipients announced last week by the Federal Minister for Industry, Innovation and Science, Arthur Sinodinos, will each receive up to $50,000 under the Bridging Grants component of the Global Connections Fund.

The Australian Academy of Technology and Engineering (ATSE) supports the Department of Industry, Innovation and Science, in the delivery of the Global Connections Fund.
