7 FEBRUARY 2017

Senator the Hon Arthur Sinodinos AO has welcomed the awarding of $500,000 in Australian Government funding towards upgrading the athletics and aquatic centres in Mingara.

The Turnbull Government has pledged over $1m to sports organisations in Dobell, including funding for Central Coast Football to upgrade Plume Park and the Wyong hockey complex.

Senator Sinodinos said the Central Coast is set to become a key region for sports tourism.

“I’m pleased to see these local facilities secure government funding to complete critical upgrades,” Senator Sinodinos said.

“The Coalition promised continued investment in Dobell and the Coalition delivers on its commitments to the electorate.

“The project will construct a new covered grandstand at the Mingara Regional Athletics Centre and upgrade the amenities block at the Mingara Aquatic Centre.

“This project will ensure that the local Mingara community continues to enjoy access to high quality recreational facilities.”

Alongside Australian government funding, the Mingara Recreation Club Ltd and NSW State Government have contributed $464,554 and $100,000 respectively.
