Supporting our veterans and community in Maitland

16 JANUARY 2017

Senator the Hon Arthur Sinodinos AO said a Government grant announced today to support veterans and their families would benefit the entire Paterson community.

The National Service & Combined Forces Association of Australia Maitland Branch will receive $1,762 towards purchasing new equipment including a marquee to enhance the program of activities provided by the branch under the Federal Government’s Veteran and Community Grants program.

“We honour the service and sacrifice of the men and women who serve in defence of our country in many ways and this grant program to help improve the quality of life for veterans and their families is an important one,” Senator Sinodinos said.

“I congratulate the National Service & Combined Forces Association of Australia Maitland Branch on securing the grant, and I thank them for their invaluable commitment to improving the lives of our veterans and their families.

“The benefits of this Veteran and Community Grants funding will also flow on to our local community.”

Senator Sinodinos said local ex-service and community organisations, veteran groups and private organisations were eligible to apply for funding for projects that contribute to the health and welfare of the veteran community through the DVA Veteran and Community Grants program.
